Pair Of Clemson Players Earn AP All-American Honors cover image

Two Clemson Tigers earned AP All-America honors after a stellar 2025 season.

Two Clemson Tigers earned recognition Monday when it was announced that defensive tackle Peter Woods and cornerback Avieon Terrell have been named to the 2025 AP All-America Team.

Both Terrell and Woods have been highly touted ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft, with Woods expected to be a top-five pick. Terrell should not be far behind Woods, with most mock drafts sending him to his destination mid-late first round.

Woods was perhaps the most important part of Clemson's defensive effort in 2025, racking up 30 combined tackles (9 solo), 2.0 sacks and one pass defended.

It was a great way for him to come back from suffering a 2024 season plagued by injury, and his contribution was well noted as Clemson jumped from having one of most lowly Power Four run defenses in the nation to having the No. 14 rushing defense in the nation, allowing an average of just 102.83 yards per game from its opponents.

Woods was also named a second-team All-American by USA TODAY, to add to his list of accolades.

Terrell was just as notable to the defense within the Clemson secondary, putting together 48 combined tackles (30 solo), 3.0 sacks, five forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and nine passes defended.

He has earned multiple honors over the course of his career, including the way he etched his way into the Clemson history books as the 12th defensive back and sixth cornerback in Tigers history to be named an AP All-American.

Where these two players land when the 2026 NFL Draft gets underway next year will be something to keep an eye on, and there's no doubt either of them will bring an immediate boost to the defense they land with.

While Terrell and Woods will have a chance to continue boosting their draft stock in pre-draft showcases and opportunities, their Clemson careers are effectively over as they have elected to opt out of the upcoming Pinstripe Bowl.

The rest of the team will take the field in Yankee Stadium at noon ET on Saturday, Dec. 27. The game will be broadcast on ABC from New York.
