Coach Prime debuted a bold custom sweatshirt message while demanding accountability for Colorado's blowout loss, fueling speculation about his expanding signature collection with the global apparel giant.

Deion Sanders clearly took notice of the Colorado Buffaloes' lousy performance against Northwestern.

The 41-7 loss to the Big Ten foe wrapped up non-conference play for CU football with a 2-1 record. Coach Prime stepped into his Tuesday press conference and you could feel the tension in the room. He started out by making Buffs defensive back Ben Finneseth apologize for trash-talking Northwestern in a moment that has since gone viral. From that point on, Sanders was asked an array of questions about what needed to be fixed.

One of the biggest misses was nobody asked Sanders about the catchphrase printed on his Nike hooded sweatshirt. Yet again, the words stood out by itself.

"I'ma Father not a Baby Daddy" was the message Sanders wanted everyone to know.

This is one of the more recent catchphrases used by Sanders during his time in Boulder. It's also the first time this design has been seen on Nike apparel.

Roundtable Sports reached out to Nike for comment about Sanders' sweatshirt being a new addition to the Prime signature line. A media relations rep couldn't confirm or deny if the hoodie was manufactured by the company. They also did not immediately respond with any further details.

As of Tuesday afternoon, there was no apparel related to Sanders' sweatshirt on Nike's site. The company also doesn't appear to have any current ad campaigns for the product, suggesting this was a custom-made design.

Sanders and Nike rekindled their relationship after he was hired by Colorado in 2022. Since coming to Boulder, the partnership with the world’s biggest outfitter has been thriving with the reintroduction of the Nike Air Diamond Turf footwear line.

In 1993, Sanders and Nike collaborated to create his first signature shoe, the Diamond Turf 1, which brought a different style to the market. Two years later, the design would shift and give way to the Nike Air Diamond Turf 3. The first shoe of its kind came a mere nine years after Nike’s first ever signature shoe with any sort of global sales success, the Air Jordan 1.

Even in ’93, as Nike was entering what is now considered their Renaissance, they were not that far removed from being a company that only worried about Olympians and runners. Sanders brought something new as a multi-sport athlete in both the NFL and MLB. Being in Colorado has introduced 'Prime Time' to a new era, with all three of his sons now affiliated with the brand. Shedeur Sanders, who currently plays for the Cleveland Browns, has taken the torch for the Diamond Turf line for the younger generation.

Sanders has released 35 different signature Diamond Turf colorways since rejoining Nike. He's one of the most successful brand ambassadors for the company since his Hall of Fame playing days.
