Well Off Media’s creative visionary reimagines the iconic Air DT Proto 92, blending 90s nostalgia with elite, gold-accented details for the public.

The man behind the camera at Well Off Media is working with Nike. Deion “Bucky” Sanders Jr. is the proprietor and creative mind behind the brand Well Off Forever, most known for the video chronicling Deion Sanders’ Colorado Buffaloes (and Jackson State previously).

What Bucky provides the program his father coaches is significant. His brand idea creates a different level of access for fans, almost no other program or franchise in modern sports provides. Due to the ‘familial’ relationship with the head coach, Bucky is able to know what to shoot and how to package that to fans.

The firstborn Sanders son is no longer an aspiring football player. He has long since set his sights on other aspirations. For most of his Well Off Media tenure, Bucky has been a person of style and influence. From game days to award ceremonies, Bucky Sanders has a specific look. A recent collaboration with Nike allows Bucky’s own approach within one of Nike’s most celebrated sneaker lines.

The Nike x Well Off Media Air DT Proto 2

According to Sneaker News, the Bucky edition of the Proto 92 is now set for an official release. Bucky has already donned a Well Off Media specific colorway. However, those were never sold for public consumption. The first Well Off colorway was less exciting than this recent announcement. The red on black with gold version Bucky has been seen wearing previously, just doesn’t come off as clean as the new wide release. Not to mention, red is a big no-no on the University of Colorado campus.

This newest release, in sneaker terms, is elite. Especially in this market of wild colors, atypical textures and designs seemingly made to appeal to a minority consumer audience, this model checks almost every box. Almost every detail of this release celebrates the design tenets of the 1990s. The era this model was born of and the era that built Nike into the juggernaut it is today.

Name: Well Off Forever x Nike Air DT Proto 92

Color: White/Metallic Gold-Off Noir

Style: JF7593-100

Release Date: November 30, 2026

Suggested Retail: $180

The white base upper sitting on a mostly black midsole and outsole is quintessentially 90s in origin, which works with a shoe originally designed in that era. If it was half black, half white, that would be enough to put it in the top 5 of Diamond Turf models and colorways released since 2023. However, this shoe ascends beyond the top 10 lists due to the details.

This is a product collaboration. With collaboration comes the expectations of Easter eggs and subtle details with meaning. The shoe is primarily white and black with gold accents. The mostly black outsole is paired with the still popular ‘ice sole’ details that are hard to see at first glance. So the level of ice soles can be found in some of Nike’s most elite signature lines.

After Bucky’s youngest brother experienced a draft slide, falling to 144th pick overall, Bucky began wearing clothes with a specific quote: “The rejected with be respected.” Those words, in the same exact font Bucky uses on T-shirts and hoodies, can be found hidden within the forefoot strap. By ‘unstrapping’ that strap, Bucky’s famous quote can be seen inside the Velcro in his adjusted black letter font.

What to expect from the latest Nike Diamond Turf release

The largest Well Off Media specific detail is not hiding at all. On the heel counter where Nike fans are accustomed to seeing the “Nike Air”, they will find a very pronounced change. Where the Nike Air would usually be has been replaced with a large WO logo with crown. A logo synonymous with the Well Off brand.

The Nike x Well Off Forever collab is without question the cleanest Diamond Turf release since the Diamond Turf 3 in the original OG maize colorway. This model is not for a fringe audience or only those with specific tastes. This model should appeal to almost any sneaker head, even if Deion Sanders or the Diamond Turf line is not their specific cup of tea.

The original build of the Proto 92 that was never released after its design remains intact. The bold NIKE on the forefoot strap with the swoosh on the side panel that was never released on the original Diamond Turf one. With the black inner sock feature and a black/white primary colorway, this even has some lacing options for those that like to ‘style’ their kicks differently when presented.

The gold is tasteful and not overbearing. Everything that needs to be original, is. Where there were opportunities to deviate, they do. It is tame enough to be subtle, but bold enough to coordinate with almost anything Colorado Buffaloes specific. In a line that has seen almost a release per month on average, the Nike x Well Off Forever collab might just become a ‘must buy’ option for sneaker heads.
