The Duke Basketball program has offered a top-five recruit in the 2028 class.

Jon Scheyer and the Duke Basketball staff continue work in pursuing recruits during the Summer months. When the open contact period began, Duke wasted no time contacting future recruits.

Now, they are starting to pursue them even more including sending out some offers to prospects in the 2028 class.

The latest? Five-star small forward Colton Hiller.

The Pennsylvania native became the latest recruit to earn an offer from Duke over the weekend as he took to social media on Sunday to reveal that the Blue Devils officially extended an offer to him.

Hiller now has a total of 26 offers, including from Duke, Alabama, Florida State, Auburn, Kansas, North Carolina, and Virginia among others. More is likely coming for the talented junior who continues to see his recruitment rise.

The 6-foot-6, 210-pound Hiller plays at Coatesville Area High School, where he has developed into one of the top players in the country overall. He's currently ranked No. 3 nationally, the No. 3 small forward, and No. 1 player in the state of Pennsylvania per the 247Sports recruiting rankings.

Hiller broke down who he plays like and watches at the NBA level in an interview with The Devils Den:

"Yeah, I used to just be a guy who would put up a lot of shots from outside, but I expanded my game this past high school season," Hiller said. "I had the ball in my hands a lot, so I was definitely working on expanding my game and that was one of the ways I did that through the mid-range." And when asked which NBA player he studies most, he did not hesitate: "I watch Luka Doncic a ton. That's how I want to play."

Duke is getting involved with a lot of 2028 prospects as they likely will take a smaller class in 2027. The Blue Devils also have the top 2026 class and a good transfer portal class coming in. Looking ahead, the 2028 class will be an important one for Scheyer and his staff, so getting off to a good start will be crucial for them.
