The Duke Blue Devils just watched as Darian Mensah spurned them at the last minute, deciding to enter the transfer portal hours before it closed on Friday.
Now, Duke is left scrambling to find a quarterback, as most of the top available signal-callers have already found new homes.
The pickings may be slim, but there are still some options remaining for the Blue Devils, and that includes Michigan Wolverines quarterback Jadyn Davis.
Anna Snyder of The Fayetteville Observer has tabbed Davis as a potential fit in Durham, noting that Duke had actually recruited him before he committed to Michigan back in March 2023.
"A Charlotte, North Carolina native, Davis was recruited by Duke out of Providence Day School but opted to go with Michigan," Snyder wrote. "He was a four-star and ranked as the fourth-ranked quarterback and the No. 9 prospect in the 2024 class per 247Sports Composite."
Davis hasn't had much of a chance to play for the Wolverines with Bryce Underwood in front of him, so he decided to enter the portal this winter.

However, the 20-year-old was talented enough to have drawn the attention of a host of big-name schools during his recruiting cycle, and while he isn't necessarily a true dual threat, he possesses tremendous arm strength.
Of course, regardless of who the Blue Devils land to play quarterback, chances are, they will be far worse off than they would have been with Mensah under center.
Mensah threw for 3,973 yards and 34 touchdowns this past season, leading the Blue Devils to their first outright ACC championship since 1962 and also guiding them to a Sun Bowl victory over Arizona State.
The former Tulane signal-caller transferred to Duke last year and signed at two-year, $8 million NIL deal with the Blue Devils. He considered entering the NFL Draft following 2025, but he opted to return to school for another year.
It appeared that Mensah would be heading back to Durham, but he had a change of heart in the waning moments of the transfer portal.
