Duke Blue Devils quarterback Darian Mensah just made the correct decision for his NFL future.
Thanks to a very strong 2025 campaign with the Duke Blue Devils, there has been rampant speculation that quarterback Darian Mensah could enter the 2026 NFL Draft.
Well, we can now officially put those rumors to bed, as Pete Nakos of On 3 has revealed that Mensah will be returning to Duke for another season.
Mensah led the ACC in both passing yards (3,646) and passing touchdowns (30) this season while tossing just six interceptions and completing 67.9 percent of his throws.
Additionally, the redshirt sophomore led the Blue Devils to an ACC Championship Game victory over Virginia.
Mensah got off to a scintillating start this year, throwing for over 300 yards in five of his first eight contests and finishing with no less than 265 yards passing in any of those games.
Things got a bit more difficult for the former Tulane signal-caller down the stretch, however, as he threw for 250 yards just once over his last five affairs and totaled under 200 passing yards twice throughout that span.

Mensah has very impressive arm talent, tremendous pocket presence and solid size at 6-foot-3, 205 pounds. He isn't the most athletic quarterback in the world, but he is mobile enough to maneuver in the pocket and make plays on the run.
In a rather thin 2026 quarterback draft class, some felt that Mensah could potentially end up being one of the first signal-callers off the board behind Fernando Mendoza, Dante Moore and Ty Simpson. That's especially considering there has been conjecture that Simpson could return to school for another year.
But clearly, Mensah felt that it was best to further hone his skills at Durham for an extra season rather than go full throttle into the NFL, and it's almost certainly the right move.
There had also been some speculation that Mensah could transfer out of Duke, but all indications are that he will be returning to the Blue Devils in 2026.
Mensah spent two years at Tulane before transferring to Duke last year.
The Blue Devils will face Arizona State in the Sun Bowl on New Year's Eve.
