Duke Blue Devils standout Isaiah Evans has been handed a new NBA Draft prediction this weekend.
With the 2026 NBA Draft right around the corner, the Duke Blue Devils have a couple of players expected to be first-round picks. Most notably, Cameron Boozer is likely to be a top-four pick.
Boozer may be the headline name for the Blue Devils during the draft this year, but there is another standout ready to make his NBA dreams become a reality.
Isaiah Evans is widely expected to be a first-round pick as well. After a successful two-year stint with Duke, he is projected to be a mid-to-late-round pick.
Bleacher Report's Zack Buckley has revealed a new mock draft over the weekend. In that mock draft, they have Evans being selected with the No. 23 overall pick by the Atlanta Hawks.
"With Jalen Johnson leading this team and Dyson Daniels playing a pivotal role, the Hawks should have a standing order for three-point shooting. Especially since some of their best-on-paper perimeter shooters aren't guaranteed to get nightly rotation roles (Corey Kispert, Buddy Hield)," Buckley wrote.
"The sales pitch for Evans should be easily (and eagerly) digested, then. He is probably the best movement shooter in this draft, and he helped his stock with better on-ball showings as a sophomore."
Throughout the course of the 2025-26 college basketball season, Evans played in 38 games. He averaged 15 points per game to go along with 3.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists, while also shooting 43.3 percent from the floor and 36.1 percent from three-point range.
Back in his freshman season with the Blue Devils in 2024-25, Evans averaged 6.8 points, 1.1 rebounds, and 0.5 assists.
Simply looking at his development from last season to this year, it's impressive to see what he's accomplished. Evans has shown the work ethic and talent to be an NBA player.
Only time will tell what the NBA has in store for Evans. However, he's expected to be a first-round pick and each mock draft continues to predict just that. Landing with the up-and-coming Hawks would be a very good destination for him to begin his career.
Expect to hear more talk about both Boozer and Evans as the draft draws closer.
