Cameron Boozer and the Duke Blue Devils are about to start ACC Tournament play with an NCAA Tournament run also in view, and for Boozer, it may be difficult to focus on the task at hand.
After all, the freshman forward is considered one of the top prospects heading into the 2026 NBA Draft, generally falling somewhere in the top four in most mock drafts.
So, is the upcoming draft a distraction for Boozer? Or is he able to tune out all of the noise and remain in the moment?
“You choose not to focus on it," Boozer told People. "Obviously you see some things, but for the most part, we're just focusing on winning, what we've got to do against the next couple teams. That's the biggest thing for me."
Boozer definitely has an NBA pedigree.
His father, Carlos, also played at Duke and was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the second round of the 2002 NBA Draft.
Carlos went on to enjoy a 13-year NBA career, also playing for the Utah Jazz, Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers, earning a pair of All-Star selections along the way.

The 18-year-old is averaging 22.7 points, 10.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists over 32.6 minutes per game on 58.3/40.7/78.0 shooting splits this season.
That being said, some of the same issues that plagued Carlos are also raising red flags when it comes to Cameron. Most notably, his defense.
Boozer is an incredibly gifted offensive talent, but his lack of defensive acumen will likely result in the 6-foot-9, 250-pound big man not being taken No. 1 overall this June.
Of course, that doesn't mean that Boozer can't carve out a successful professional career, but the chances of him becoming an elite two-way threat seem slim. Then again, those players seems to getting more and more rare as time passes.
For now, though, Cameron's primary goal is to bring an national championship to Duke, much like Carlos did back in 2001.
Cameron also has his twin brother, Cayden, along for the ride, as well.
We'll see if the top-ranked Blue Devils can win their first title in over a decade.
