Cameron Boozer playing with Washington Wizards All-Stars Anthony Davis and Trae Young would be really fun to watch.
Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report has Duke star Cameron Boozer going to the Washington Wizards in his latest 2026 NBA mock draft.
Buckley has the Wizards taking Boozer with the third overall pick.
If Boozer lands in Washington, the Wizards would have Boozer, Anthony Davis and Trae Young. On paper, that looks dangerous.
"The Wizards are a bit tricky to read, since it's not clear how much they would (or even should) factor in the presence of Trae Young and Anthony Davis into their draft-day decisions," Buckley wrote. "That said, if they end up with the third pick, it should be a simple call so long as they share the common belief that there are three prospects clearly above the rest in this class.
"And the helpful thing with Boozer is that he'd be a fit as both an instant-impact addition to a team seemingly looking to up its competitiveness and as a long-term building block with an intriguing core that's still taking shape. His phsyical tools are fairly forgettable for an NBA prospect, but he reads like the court like a supercomputer, so Washington should be comfortable banking on his problem-solving skills. And since his skill tree branches in so many different directions, it's easy to envision him molding his approach in ways that allow him big-batch 3D-print winning plays wherever the Wizards need him that particular night."
Boozer was the top player in college basketball this past season, which is why he won the Player of the Year Award. The forward averaged 22.5 points, 10.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game while shooting 55.6% from the field, 39.1% from beyond the arc and 78.9% from the free-throw line.
Former Duke star Cooper Flagg was the first pick in the 2025 draft by the Dallas Mavericks. Boozer could be the first pick in this year's draft. We have to wait until the 2026 draft lottery to see who has the first pick.
Wherever Boozer lands, he will likely flourish. After all, he's the son of two-time NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer.
While Cameron is humble, he believes he should be the first pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. The youngster told Mark Medina of EssentiallySports the following: "There are a lot of great candidates, for sure. Some of them are here. But what I think separates me is my competitiveness and my winning. It’s my willingness to do whatever it takes to win."
