Duke Trying to Land Kon Knueppel's Brother

Kon Knueppel had a brief but substantial time at Duke.

He averaged 14.4 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.7 assists for the Blue Devils. Knueppell and Cooper Flagg led Duke to a Final Four appearance.

Duke head coach Jon Scheyer told reporters last year that he enjoyed having Knueppell in his system and thought he developed into a better prospect for the NBA during his time with the program.

"Loved having Kon in our program," Scheyer said. "So proud of him and what he did this season. He's a guy that is about competition. He never shied away from the competitive plays that have to be made in order to win at a high level.

"As a freshman, Kon understood that. He played both sides of the ball. He had big scoring games... I loved the growth that he made and can't wait to see what he's going to do at the next level."

Flagg went first in the 2025 draft to the Dallas Mavericks. Knueppel went No. 4 to the Charlotte Hornets. Knueppel became the runner-up for the 2025-26 Rookie of the Year award after leading the league with 273 three-pointers made.

The Blue Devils are showing interest in Kon's brother Kager, a six-foot-nine, 205-pound power forward and junior at Wisconsin Lutheran High School. Duke offered Kager a scholarship for 2027.

Fans on social media reacted to the news that Duke offered Kager a scholarship.

"He’s gonna be a Boiler. Too much of a Christian to play for the Devils," wrote another.

"Duke’s 1st move in the 2027 class is in. Offer out to Kager Knueppel. 6’10 and growing? Range, poise, high-level feel, which runs in the family. His trajectory is real and trending one way," believes a fan.

"Have a hunch, this one might not last long once it gets going."

"lemme guess, Duke is gonna offer him 10k and a new Xbox while Wisconsin is gonna offer 500k and a new rolls Royce?" questioned a fan.

"He’s only going to get better especially if he can keep shooting at a high level like he has been," argued a fan.
