Teams around the NBA have been very unlucky over the past few years, depending on what teams we're talking about, and the Chicago Bulls are at the top of that list in terms of teams that just haven't had enough luck. It's been unfortunate that things have gone the way they have for such a storied organization, but some of the problems are self-inflicted and stem from mistakes the Bulls' front office has made in the past.
With a lot of new faces, including a new head coach to be named, a new front office, and much more, the Bulls are hopeful they can return to the old Chicago days, as the fan base certainly deserves that.
For that to happen, we'll need to see the Bulls make the right decisions in the 2026 NBA Draft. Chicago was relatively lucky on lottery day, earning the fourth pick. There seems to be a consensus top four picks in this upcoming draft class, though there are some arguments about who the better prospect is at No. 3 and No. 4 between Cameron Boozer and Caleb Wilson.
Some believe it's Boozer, while I believe it's Wilson at the NBA level.
ESPN seems to believe so too, with the Bulls projected to select Boozer with the fourth pick in this upcoming draft.
“The Bulls had a 20.27% chance of moving into the top four and will be thrilled with this stroke of luck after tabbing Bryson Graham as their new lead executive last week. Chicago appears to be charting a patient course as it prepares to build through the draft. The opportunity to add a star-level player at this spot significantly raises the Bulls' chances of building something sustainable, as they operate with a relatively clean slate.
“The Bulls also own the 15th pick and should have minutes available for their rookies next season, presenting a strong opportunity to add talent and build a younger team,” Jeremy Woo of ESPN wrote.
The Bulls having two top-15 picks is a very promising sign, and Boozer would fit right into that. Boozer was the best player in college basketball last season by a somewhat wide margin, at least statistically, though he'll have some questions to answer in the NBA, which the Bulls might want to avoid.
