At the top of the draft lottery in this upcoming 2026 NBA Draft, there will be a few interesting teams to look at.
Specifically, I'm looking at squads like the Indiana Pacers and Milwaukee Bucks as two teams that could really be perfect landing spots for some of the top players in the NBA if their current teams look similar to what they will be after the draft.
The Bucks obviously have some more questions to answer than the Pacers at the moment due to Giannis Antetokounmpo's future, while the Pacers are expected to have all of their stars on the roster next year and be in a position to compete for an NBA title.
For Duke star Cameron Boozer, that's exactly what needs to happen.
Boozer, who proved during his time at Duke that he's arguably the best player in this upcoming draft, would definitely benefit from playing with a team like Indiana. It remains uncertain if he wants his own team, which he likely wouldn't get in Indiana, but this would be the best of both worlds, as he'd be able to be a star and play for a team that has a chance to win as early as next season.
It was recently predicted that he could land with Indiana, with some suggesting that the Pacers are very interested in making a play for him.
“Duke freshman Cameron Boozer was dominant during his first NCAA season, earning national collegiate player of the year honors. According to NBA insider Jake Fischer, rival teams believe Boozer would be the "preferred selection" for the Pacers because of his "potential fit" alongside Pascal Siakam and Ivica Zubac.
“The ACC Player of the Year isn’t a human highlight reel, but he offers consistency and a diverse, impactful skill set. More importantly, he can bring a culture of winning after multiple championships in high school and an elite Duke team that made it to the Sweet 16 before a heartbreaking last-second loss,” Bryan Kalbrosky of USA TODAY wrote.
The Pacers definitely made the right decisions at the trade deadline, adding Ivica Zubac. There's reason to believe that both of them can fit well in an offense and defense that would also feature multiple prolific scorers already.
