The Duke Blue Devils and UConn Huskies matchup in the Elite Eight has received a prediction from ESPN.

The Duke Blue Devils were able to punch their ticket to the Elite Eight with a hard-fought win over St. John's and legendary head coach Rick Pitino on Friday night.

Despite having to fight hard to move on, the Blue Devils pulled out an 80-75 victory.

Isaiah Evans led the way for Duke against the Red Storm, scoring 25 points on 10-for-15 shooting. Cameron Boozer scored 22 points to go along with 10 rebounds and three assists, while Caleb Foster came off the bench to score 11 points.

Beating St. John's was no easy task. However, the Blue Devils are now gearing up for an even more difficult matchup against Dan Hurley and the UConn Huskies on Sunday evening.

With that being said, ESPN has revealed their projection for how the Elite Eight matchup will end.

ESPN's matchup indicator is currently giving Duke a 72.1 percent chance to come out with a win and advance to the Final Four. The Blue Devils' fan base will be excited to see that prediction.

With that being said, the Huskies are a formidable opponent. Hurley has already won two National Championships since taking over the UConn head coaching job back in the 2021-21 season. He has his eyes set on number three.

For Duke, the big matchups to watch will be defending Tarris Reed Jr. and Alex Karaban. Braylon Mullins, the standout freshman for UConn, will also be a player to keep in check.

On the outside looking in, the Blue Devils are the favorite to win and advance. Doing so will prove difficult. If they can play up to their full potential, a second straight Final Four run could very well be in the cards.

It will be interesting to see how this matchup plays out. Duke will need a strong showing from Boozer and Evans once again to win.

That being said, fans will be able to watch the Blue Devils take on the Huskies on Sunday evening at 5:05 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcasted on CBS. For now, ESPN is taking Duke to come out on top.
