Former Duke basketball star Cooper Flagg had an awesome time at the latest NASCAR event in Texas.

Former Duke Blue Devils basketball star Cooper Flagg is living the life. Just a week removed from winning the NBA's Rookie of the Year award, Flagg took in the NASCAR race over the weekend in Texas.

With NASCAR descending on the Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Flagg was part of the festivities. The Dallas Mavericks star was able to take in the experience and even hang out with a few drivers and take a ride in a car.

Being at a NASCAR race is more than just watching the cars as the pre-race experience is an awesome thing. As long as Flagg is in the league, he will continue to get these experiences which will also potentially help him along the way.

It was a unique experience for the teenager who just wrapped up his first year in the NBA. And he had another rookie help him along the way.

Cooper Flagg, Connor Zilisch share rookie moment ahead of NASCAR race

The 19-year-old Flagg not only drove the pace car for the Wurth 400 but also got to share a moment with NASCAR rookie Connor Zilisch. The No. 88 driver is also 19-years-old and a rising prospect in his sport.

Flagg took a lap with Zilisch and called it a 'really cool' experience:

"I think just being able to connect on the fact that we're both young in our respective sports, that was really cool, and to be able to talk to someone that's going through a lot of similar things at a time in your life," Flagg said.

Flagg did admit he was a little bit scared in terms of how fast the car was going. But can you blame him? Having that experience doesn't happen every day and shows just how hard it is to be a NASCAR driver in the sport.

While Flagg took home the top rookie honors for his sport, Zilisch is hoping to do the same this year in NASCAR.  He's among the favorites to win the award and is a highly-touted prospect who signed a multi-year deal with Trackhouse Racing.
