The youngster stands out.

I try not to get too caught up in exhibition games in college basketball, but it's absolutely terrifying for the rest of the nation what Duke has been able to do on both ends of the floor in the first couple of exhibition games they've played.

This team is flat-out ridiculous, and I think it's not even crazy to say that Jon Scheyer has perhaps his most talented team ever.

It's scary to think about how good Duke can be on both ends of the court, but ultimately, these are still exhibition games.

Teams like Tennessee are trying things out, and we can say the same about Duke.

Regardless, I think it's also important to look at some of the positives that we've seen from Duke and give it the credit that it deserves.

There are so many positives to speak of, but youngster Joaquim Boumtje Boumtje continues to stand out. Scheyer said that after the game against Tennessee, he's proud of him and the way he goes about his business.

Boumtje Boumtje knows he's a very talented player, as does Scheyer, but he focuses on getting better each day in practice and wants to know when he's doing something wrong so he can correct it.

That level of humility at just 17 shows there's a lot to be excited about for the young man.

"Really proud of JoJo. He's allowed us to coach him really hard. He's doing something that very few people have ever done. He's the youngest player here, as you guys know, and I just think he has a — there is a play we do in competition the other day in practice, and we're emphasizing you have to talk, and he didn't say anything, and one of the coaches called him out on it, and (someone) tried to say like, 'No, he said it,' and he basically just made a comment that I'm not going to get better if I don't acknowledge what I should have done, and that's how he's been to coach.

“With that, his talent and ability speaks for itself, but just his attitude, the fact he's a great teammate, and I thought tonight he showed a lot of force and showed an edge, which is also great to see,” Scheyer said, per 247.

I always question whether we should put crazy expectations on a 17-year-old, but at Duke, we've obviously been spoiled with freshmen who are the best players in the country, as we've recently seen with Cooper Flagg and Cameron Boozer.

However, there's a scenario where Boumtje Boumtje can be just as good as any player in college basketball.

I'm not going to put expectations like Boozer and Flagg on him just yet, but this kid has a boatload of talent, and he'll be exciting to watch.
