It's really tough to get a feel for what Duke is going to look like this season, but there's also reason to believe that the Blue Devils can be one of the better teams in the ACC if things go as planned.

As we look at Duke's schedule entering this year, there are some tough games, and the ACC games it will play won't be easy, but there's also reason to believe that the Blue Devils can still be a very good team. After winning the ACC Championship Game a year ago, the expectation is to get back there. There's obviously a question now at the quarterback position because of Darian Mensah, which has led Duke to be the 10th-ranked team in the preseason polls in the ACC.

Beyond that, the program has questions, and one of them is at wide receiver.

Despite the question marks that are coming from the wide receiver group, head coach Manny Diaz doesn't view it as such. He even said he's really excited about the group and has been impressed with what the transfers have done.

"We're excited about the group," Diaz said of his WR room, per Hugh Straine. "We won't put a depth chart out until Monday because, really, other than quarterback, we felt like most competitions are still taking place this week."

"The transfers, the older guys, the Jared Richardson's and the Javen Nicholas's, they've acclimated well to what we're doing...And then we do have the young guys who we're excited about. Jayden Moore, who was a special-teams ace for a us a year ago, and then Jaivon Solomon, Kavon Simmons, and Jamien Little, who are all extraordinarily talented. So, we have guys that we feel that can do it," Diaz later added.

Duke really needs a couple of guys on the offensive side of the football to step up even beyond Walker Eget.

There's reason to believe that there are some wide receivers in this room who can make plays for Eget and possibly make Duke a much better team than it is predicted to be entering the year. At the same time, I understand why there are questions about the unit, so there are questions that have to be answered.
