Some teams had a lot more luck during the NBA Draft than others, and the Memphis Grizzlies were the beneficiary of some of that.

Memphis is in one of those weird spots where it doesn't have to go out and find a franchise guy if it still believes Ja Morant can be that player, though most believe that he's going to be traded during the offseason. Even with Morant possibly on the team next year and beyond, adding the best possible player they can at third overall will be at the top of the Grizzlies' priority list.

As things currently stand, many believe that Duke star Cameron Boozer will be the guy they go after with that third pick, as he can fit into what Memphis is looking to do on both sides of the basketball at a very high level.

“The Grizzlies' good fortune at the lottery is a boon for the top-to-bottom rebuild on Beale Street. They've had a few nice finds recently (Zach Edey and Cedric Coward chief among them), but they could use a true blue-chipper to serve as their long-term leader. Boozer might be the best possible prospect for the job.

“He is a decorated winner and perhaps the draft's most polished player, despite the fact he won't even turn 19 until this summer. He can effortlessly shift between coveted roles as a primary scorer, a stretch big and a supersized playmaker. If the Grizzlies want to get back to their old grit-and-grind ways, a bruising nucleus built around Boozer, Edey and Coward should be ready and able to support a rebirth,” BR wrote.

The Grizzlies simply need to add more talent, so taking the best player available in that situation should definitely be the plan.

If things go as planned throughout the draft, Memphis should have an opportunity to either go with Caleb Wilson or Boozer, so depending on what it wants to do, that's likely what will and should happen.

Boozer is definitely an interesting name, though, as he would certainly fit into what the Grizzlies are looking to build in the future.
