Early National Signing Day has begun under new Gators head coach Job Sumrall and so far, Florida has inked a dozen highly-touted recruits despite the firing of Billy Napier earlier this season. The signing period lasts through Friday.

The University of Florida football program will try to start off the Jon Sumrall era with a strong close to its 2026 recruiting class on Early National Signing Day on Dec. 3. While most of the Gators' 2026 class is set to sign today, the Early Signing Period lasts through Friday. So, there could be some late drama.

So far, the Gators have reportedly retained 18 of their 19 original commitments, with only four-star running back Carsyn Baker decommitting after former UF coach Billy Napier was fired on Oct. 19. Baker, however, is still considering signing with Florida despite backing off his commitment, as Sumrall works to keep him.

Florida will try to secure commitments for all of its current 18 recruits during the day while possibly adding a few more. Sumrall was introduced as head coach on Monday in Gainesville, after being officially named to the position on Nov. 30. Sumrall says he has been on Zoom and FaceTime calls with recruits and their families, asking them to give him a chance.

Florida only has predictions to add four-star safety Dylan Purter from LSU and made a late offer to four-star Missouri edge rusher commit Micah Nickerson.

Given the massive coaching turnover in the SEC over the past week, there could be some surprises between today and Friday. The SEC coaching changes include:

Florida: Jon Sumrall from Tulane

LSU: Lane Kiffin from Ole Miss (seven-year, $91 million deal)

Ole Miss: Pete Golding promoted from defensive coordinator

Auburn: Alex Golesh from South Florida

Arkansas: Ryan Silverfield from Memphis

Kentucky: Will Stein from Oregon (offensive coordinator)

Six of the SEC's 16 teams made coaching changes in a span of just 24 hours over the weekend, creating one of the most chaotic coaching carousels in recent history. The Gator recruiting class ranks as high as 13th nationally, according to Rivals, and sixth in the SEC, per ESPN.

One of the key signees today was Tampa Jesuit quarterback Will Griffin. Griffin committed to the Gators on June 1, 2024, and, despite the coaching change at UF, continued to affirm he was committed to the Gators. He did so again earlier this week on social media earlier and made it official this morning as the 12th player to sign for the Gators on Early National Signing Day. Since Griffin's signing, three additional prep players have put pen to paper for the Gators, bringing their current total to 15 signees on Day 1 of the early period.

Here's a quick look at who UF has locked in so far, according to the school's official football site:
