Former Florida Gators wide receiver J. Michael Sturdivant had the best performance of his NFL career thus far, as he recorded his first catch.

Sturdivant finished with three receptions for 22 yards in the Green Bay Packers' loss to the Atlanta Falcons. While he isn't a star for Green Bay's offense in his rookie season, Sturdivant was solid, catching all three passes when he was targeted.

He could play a contributing role in the Packers' offense, with Jayden Reed's injury opening up more opportunities for other weapons.

Sturdivant had a solid senior season with the Gators, as he hauled in 27 receptions for 406 yards and three touchdowns. While it wasn't off-the-charts numbers for him, he was a weapon on the outside for Florida and showed enough for Green Bay to sign him as an undrafted free agent.

Sturdivant then had a strong training camp, made the Packers roster, and has now seen some in-game action at receiver, making a few plays.

Florida is leaning on some sophomore wideouts in the 2026 season under new head coach Jon Sumrall. That has translated into success for the Gators just a year after they went 4-8.

Florida has proven to have some quality weapons through the first three games of the season, with Vernell Brown III leading the way. Brown had a solid freshman season with the Gators in 2025 and has established himself as a reliable receiver in his sophomore campaign, with 14 receptions for 246 yards and two touchdowns thus far.

Dallas Wilson is the other top receiver for Florida with 12 receptions for 225 yards and two touchdowns.

With Brown and Wilson as reliable weapons, transfer quarterback Aaron Philo has had a quality start to the season, completing 73.4 percent of his passes for 721 yards, six touchdowns, and two interceptions.

Although the passing attack has been solid, running back Jadan Baugh has stolen the show, as he is in the mix to win the Heisman Trophy, having rushed for 458 yards and eight touchdowns through three games.

Baugh is one of the best running backs in college football, which has helped the wide receivers of Brown and Wilson and the passing attack establish a rhythm.

Florida will look to continue their strong start to the season in a tough matchup against the Ole Miss Rebels, while Sturdivant will continue to carve out his role in the NFL.
