Witness the intense grit of the Jon Sumrall era as mic’d up coaches and exclusive footage reveal the grueling cultural shift defining Florida’s quest for physicality.
The Florida Gators had an exciting spring under new head coach Jon Sumrall.
The Gators’ workouts were intense, with Sumrall running his team through the gauntlet and trying to push his players to become more athletic and competitive before practices began.
Sumrall didn't allow his players to wear workout clothes with Gators logos, harkening back to the Urban Meyer era. During the 15 spring practices, Sumrall continued to push his players as he builds a new culture.
On Monday night, Florida fans will have an opportunity to watch what went on behind the scenes. Per the Gators, a 30-minute show called "All-Access: Florida Spring Football” will debut on Monday at 7 p.m. ET on the SEC Network.
It will have clips from workouts, practice, and the Orange & Blue spring game. There will be never-before-seen interviews with players and coaches.
"The show will feature never-before-seen footage and access from 2026 spring practices and will include interviews with head coach Jon Sumrall, running back Jadan Baugh, JACK Jayden Woods, and wide receiver Vernell Brown III. The show will also have mic’d-up segments from Coach Sumrall, offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner, and defensive coordinator Brad White."
It should be worth a watch for Gators fans who want to learn what life is like for Florida players under Sumrall.
Sumrall had a lot that he liked from his team during the spring, though he noted the team needed to become much more physical during training camp this summer.
"I'd like for it to be more physical," Sumrall said. "The guys are trying. They're trying to play hard. They are. This is a league that you have to be calloused and tough to win - and that's at every level, not just at the line of scrimmage.
"Now, the line of scrimmage is clearly a grown man's league. But our guys have to understand that, man, there are no days off. So just continue to elevate how we play with an edge."
Sumrall will bring that same intensity with him to training camp. The Gators are looking to make a bowl game this season, and lay the groundwork for a future championship.
