Florida Gators defensive tackle Caleb Banks has received a surprising NFL Draft prediction.

Florida Gators defensive tackle Caleb Banks saw his NFL Draft stock take a major hit recently, as it was revealed he suffered a broken foot the day before the Scouting Combine unbeknownst to him.

Considering that Banks just had the same foot surgically repaired earlier in the season, this is obviously a major red flag.

Prior to the re-injury, Banks was viewed as a first-round pick by most. His stock had absolutely skyrocketed over the last couple of months, and some even had the 23-year-old going in the top 10.

Now, Banks' stock has dropped significantly in the eyes of many. Two foot injuries — and two surgeries — in less than a year is certainly concerning, especially for a man of Banks' gargantuan size (6-foot-6, 327 pounds).

However, Gordon McGuinness of Pro Football Focus still seems to believe that Banks is a first-round pick, predicting him to land with the Carolina Panthers at No. 19.

"Banks broke his foot injury at the NFL combine, but before that, he was having arguably the best pre-draft process of any defensive lineman," McGuiness wrote. "Although injury also limited him to just 96 snaps in 2025, he has rare athleticism for his size. We'll have to see if the injury impacts his draft stock."

It would actually be pretty surprising if a team still took Banks that high given his health issues, but perhaps his talent and potential is so significant that a squad may be willing to take the risk.

Banks' track record is very limited.

He began his career at Louisville in 2021 and spent two seasons with the Cardinals, barely getting any playing time before transferring to Florida in 2023.

Banks logged just 19 tackles and a sack during his first season in Gainesville before registering 21 tackles, seven tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks in 2024.

The standout defender appeared in just three games in 2025, finishing with six tackles.

As you can see, Banks' sample size is minute, so if an NFL team is going to select him in Round 1, it would be basing the selection off of his ceiling more than anything else.

There is no doubt that Banks is one of the most intriguing and enigmatic players in this year's draft class. It will be interesting to see where he lands.
