The Florida Gators have already made some serious noise in the transfer portal this winter, and that's in spite of losing a host of players this winter.
Upon Jon Sumrall accepting the job as Florida's head coach, 32 players have departed Gainesville, which is to be expected whenever a coaching change is made.
But the Gators have also acquired 20 players in the portal, and their haul has been so impressive that On 3 has slotted them eighth in their transfer portal rankings.
And in the midst of all of that, Florida could be closing in on yet another key transfer addition.
Sources have told Tyler Harden and Tom Loy of 247 Sports that the Gators will be hosting former South Florida Bulls cornerback Jonas Duclona for a visit this week.
Duclona is expected to head to Gainesville to meet with Sumrall and Co. on either Friday or Saturday and would represent a massive addition for Florida's secondary.
The Gators have already bagged former UCLA Bruins cornerback Kanye Clark, but they are also aiming to secure a commitment from Duclona, one of the top defensive backs remaining in the portal.

The upcoming redshirt junior, who spent the first two seasons of his collegiate career at Wisconsin, has two years of eligibility remaining.
As expected, Florida will be facing some serious competition for Duclona, as he will also be visiting with Georgia Tech and Iowa State this week.
Because Duclona is a Florida native who was just playing in state this past season, the Gators may hold an advantage over the other squads involved.
Florida went just 4-8 in 2025 and has posted four losing campaigns over the last five years, one of the worst stretches in the history of the program.
The Gators fired Billy Napier midway through the season and ultimately hired Sumrall in late November.
Sumrall split the first four years of his head-coaching career between Troy and Tulane, going 43-12. Most recently, he led Tulane to an 11-3 mark and a College Football Playoff appearance.
We'll see if Sumrall can turn this once proud program back into an SEC contender.
