The Florida Gators could flip a four-star recruit from an SEC team.
The Florida Gators have been incredibly busy this offseason, which was to be expected once Jon Sumrall took the head-coaching job back in November.
Sumrall was very active in the transfer portal, putting together a haul that resulted in On 3 placing Florida ninth in its transfer portal rankings. On top of that, the Gators have been ubiquitous on the recruiting trail.
Florida recently landed five-star offensive lineman Maxwell Hiller and has already bagged commitments from 10 players for the class of 2027, including five four-star prospects.
Could the Gators also steal a top recruit from an SEC rival?
Four-star cornerback Jerry Outhouse just decommitted from the Georgia Bulldogs, and based on comments made Outhouse made back in March, Florida could have a chance to snatch the star defender.
"I've never really had a connection with Florida," Outhouse told Mike Roach of 247 Sports. "The coaches came and talked to me, and I feel like I had a good connection with them. I feel like I want to see what that blue and orange is talking about."

The Fort Worth, Tx. native has a visit to Gainesville planned for May 28, so he definitely appears to have some legitimate interest in the Gators.
Florida has secured commitments from two 2027 cornerbacks: Amare Nugent (four stars) and Aamaury Fountain (three stars). But there is always room for more.
Outhouse is a pretty unique prospect, too, as he stands 6-foot-1 and weighs 180 pounds, giving him impressive size for a defensive back.
The Gators' 2027 recruiting class is currently ranked 10th by 247 Sports, and Sumrall has plenty of time to improve it, as well.
Sumrall split the first four years of his head-coaching career between Troy and Tulane, where he went 43-12. Most recently, he guided Tulane to an 11-3 record and a College Football Playoff appearance.
Of course, coaching in the SEC is an entirely different ballgame, so we will see how Sumrall manages next season.
