Florida Gators' Jadan Baugh Lands With Super Bowl Contender in 2027 Mock Draft

Florida Gators star Jadan Baugh is one of the top running backs in the nation heading into the 2026 season.

In a 2027 early mock draft by CBS Sports, Baugh lands with the Los Angeles Rams with the 32nd overall pick.

Baugh has had two quality seasons with the Gators to start his college career. In his freshman campaign, he rushed for 673 yards and seven touchdowns, along with four receptions for 33 yards and a touchdown.

He had a breakout year in 2025, as he finished with 1,170 yards and eight touchdowns while hauling in 33 receptions for 210 yards and two touchdowns.

If Baugh puts together another strong season in 2026, he will be one of the first running backs off the board in the 2027 NFL Draft. 

Baugh will be a key piece for the Gators offense in 2026, as they look to have a bounce-back year. Florida finished with a 4-8 record, which led to the firing of head coach Billy Napier.

To replace Napier, the Gators hired Jon Sumrall as their next head coach after having a ton of success at Troy and Tulane. Sumrall led Troy to a record of 12-2 and 11-2 in 2022 and 2023.

At Tulane, Sumrall led the team to a 9-5 record in 2024 and an 11-3 record and a College Football Playoff appearance in 2025.

Sumrall's success as a head coach gives promise to Florida turning it around in 2026. However, it won't be easy, as the SEC is loaded with talented teams.

Their potential success will rely heavily on transfer quarterback Aaron Philo. Sumrall landed Philo in the transfer portal from Georgia Tech and is likely to name him as the starting quarterback.

Philo doesn't have a ton of experience, as he completed 59 of 102 passes (57.8 percent) for 938 yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions across 2024 and 2025. He added 95 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries.

While Philo doesn't have much experience on the field, he will have familiarity with the system, as Sumrall hired Buster Faulkner as the offensive coordinator, who is also coming from Georgia Tech.

Faulkner will lean on Baugh, their star running back, to make things easier on Philo to have a competitive season in 2026.
