A surprising health update has been revealed on this Florida Gators star.

Florida Gators cornerback Devin Moore ran the 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine on Friday, clocking in at 4.50 seconds.

While that isn't exactly blazing, it's still rather solid for a cornerback who stands 6-foot-3 and weighs 200 pounds, and the latest little nugget that has emerged regarding Moore will make his time look even more impressive.

Charles Davis of CBS Sports revealed that Moore actually underwent groin surgery in December, which is why he didn't actually do any on-field drills and was only cleared to run in a straight line.

Moore then took to social media to say he "needs more time" and that he would be more active at Florida's Pro Day on March 26.

Now that we know more about Moore's situation, it makes him an even more intriguing prospect heading into the NFL Draft.

Most have the Naples, Fl. native tabbed as late Day 2 or early fourth-round pick this April, but a strong showing at his Pro Day could change things.

There is no question that Moore is a very interesting player. He possesses rare size for his position, and while he isn't the fastest cornerback around, he is definitely athletic enough to be an impactful defender on the professional level.

Moore arrived in Gainesville in 2022 and spent four seasons at Florida. He did have some injury issues throughout his tenure with the Gators, which, coupled with his groin injury, could scare some teams away come draft day.

However, during Moore's healthiest season in the Swamp this past year, he registered 35 tackles, a sack, a couple of interceptions and four passes defended, establishing himself as one of the more underrated defensive backs in the SEC.

This year's cornerback class is pretty deep, but due to his unique blend of size and skill, there is a chance that a team could try to reach for Moore as soon as the second round if things go really well at his Pro Day.

Moore is one of a small handful of Florida players who could fly off the board within the first two days of the draft, with defensive tackle Caleb Banks and center Jake Slaughter being the others.

We'll see where Moore falls in a couple of months.
