The Florida Gators and head coach Jon Sumrall have made another huge splash within the 2027 recruiting cycle to begin the month of June.

Since his arrival in the program back in December, Sumrall and company have made significant moves to acquire top-tier talent within both the transfer portal and the 2027 recruiting class. However, the Gators’ exciting run on the upcoming recruiting trail has shown no signs of stopping heading into the month of June.
According to Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett on Tuesday morning, 2027 four-star offensive tackle Kennedee Jackson has committed to the Gators, over the likes of the Georgia Bulldogs and the LSU Tigers.
Jackson’s Recruitment Journey
Jackson, who was a highly-touted target for Florida in the upcoming recruiting cycle, is widely considered to be one of the top offensive tackles in the 2027 class. As of this month, the talented lineman is currently a top-12 prospect in the state of Georgia, as well as the No. 14 offensive tackle in the 2027 recruiting class, per 247Sports’ Composite.
Despite Sumrall and the Gators’ coaching staff making a late push for Jackson, the rising star took an unofficial visit to the program during the month of April. Florida clearly impressed him during his time in Gainesville, which ultimately led to him taking an official visit to the program last weekend. And while Jackson took official visits to LSU and Georgia Tech this offseason, he would wind up committing to Florida just days after his visit.
Standing at 6-foot-6, 297 lbs., Jackson already possesses a terrific frame that will allow him to be a force on the offensive line at the college level. With his experience of playing on both offense and defense throughout the course of his three years at Lithonia High School, the stout lineman has above-average athleticism, making his size and agility a perfect blend for an offensive tackle upon his arrival in Gainesville in 2027.
Looking at the Gators’ 2027 recruiting cycle, Sumrall and his coaching staff have managed to quickly rise amongst the ranks by adding a total of 18 commits since joining the program.
However, while Jackson is considered a top offensive tackle in the 2027 class, he will now become the third-highest rated prospect at his position in Florida’s recruiting class, with five-star Maxwell Hiller and four-star Elijah Hutcheson both being top-10 offensive tackles in the cycle, according to 247Sports’ Composite.
