Jon Sumrall and the Florida Gators have received a major prediction on an elite recruit.

Things already feel different in Gainesville after Jon Sumrall took over as the Florida Gators' new head coach.

Sumrall put together a fantastic haul in the transfer portal, and he is also all over the place on the recruiting trail right now.

Florida's name seems to be popping up everywhere, and now, the Gators have received a massive production on a top recruit.

The Gators have been in pursuit of five-star offensive lineman Maxwell Hiller, the top-ranked interior offensive lineman in the class of 2027.

Well, 247 Sports appears to believe that Hiller is headed to the Swamp, as its crystal ball prediction has Florida landing the 6-foot-5, 300-pound star.

Hiller is also the fourth-ranked player in his class overall, via 247 Sports' composite rankings. He is slated to head to Gainesville for a visit on June 19.

The Coatesville, Pa. product has landed 31 offers in total. Alabama, Tennessee and Ohio State are viewed as Florida's biggest challengers to bag Hiller, but he also has interest from Clemson, Georgia, Indiana, Miami, Michigan, Oregon and Notre Dame, among others.

Prior to visiting Florida this summer, Hiller also has meetings planned with Alabama (May 29) and Tennessee (June 12). Hopefully, Sumrall is able to convince him to commit to the Gators once he arrives in the Swamp.

Sumrall accepted Florida's head-coaching job back in late November and is hoping to turn around a program that went just 4-8 in 2025 and has only logged one winning season over the last five years.

The 43-year-old has four years of previous head-coaching experience, splitting his time between Troy and Tulane.

Sumrall went 43-12 during that time, most recently leading Tulane to an 11-3 record and a College Football Playoff appearance.

Of course, the SEC is an entirely different ballgame, so Sumrall certainly has his work cut out for him heading into his debut campaign.

One thing is for sure, though: Sumrall seems up for the challenge, and he already seems to be establishing an atmosphere that Billy Napier was unfortunately incapable of building.

We'll see if Sumrall can help Florida rebound next season.
