Games against FAU and Campbell to start the season will give their quarterback a chance to gain reps before playing SEC contests. Auburn and Missouri could go either way here.
Florida can eventually contend with the top teams under Sumrall, but he needs more of his players before beating College Football Playoff contenders like Ole Miss, Texas, Georgia, and Oklahoma.
How the offense looks
The Gators will have no shortage of talent at skilled positions. Running back Jadan Baugh should be a first-round pick in 2027. Receivers Eric Singleton Jr., Dallas Wilson, and Vernell Brown III are true playmakers, but how well they do will be tied to the play of Philo or Jones.
New offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner must find a starting five for the offensive line after the Gators lost three offensive linemen. Transfers Harrison Moore and TJ Shanahan Jr. could earn starting jobs.
How the defense looks
