The Florida Gators are widely viewed as one of the biggest winners of the transfer portal, as new head coach Jon Sumrall got to work on building the roster very early.
But while names like quarterback Aaron Philo and wide receiver Eric Singleton may have been the most prominent pickups for Florida, it's entirely possible that neither player was the best one.
That title could ultimately belong to defensive lineman Emmanuel Oyebadejo.
Oyebadejo is a native of England who was actually an international recruit of Jacksonville State in 2024.
He spent two seasons with the Gamecocks, but missed his entire debut campaign after his waiver was denied by the NCAA. But in 2025, Oyebadejo broke out with 43 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks.
Oyebadejo then decided to enter the transfer portal, and Sumrall wasted no time in scooping him up.
So, what makes Oyebadejo unique? Well, he stands 6-foot-7 and weighs 320 pounds, making him an incredibly imposing presence.

Of course, Oyebadejo is expected to play a whole lot of defensive tackle, but perhaps Florida will actually be able to put him on the edge in certain sets. The fact that that is even an option is absolutely incredible.
Oyebadejo possesses incredible athleticism and also a very high football IQ. He sees the field very well and also has a knack for disrupting passing lanes, having logged five passes defended in 2025.
For a man who is that tall, perhaps it isn't too surprising that Oyebadejo is able to deflect some passes, but it still requires skill and awareness, nonetheless.
The Gators' pass rush also includes edge rusher Jayden Woods, who opted to return to Gainesville in spite of initially entering the transfer portal.
It will be interesting to see if Oyebadejo and Woods form a dynamic duo in the trenches, and the former will almost surely make Woods' job easier.
Florida has added 26 players in the portal overall, but none of the acquisitions stand out more than Oyebadejo, both literally and figuratively.
