This Florida Gators standout went undrafted entirely in the NFL Draft.
Heading into the 2025 college football season, Florida Gators edge rusher Tyreak Sapp was viewed as a top-tier talent. In fact, many wondered if he could be selected in the first round of the NFL Draft.
And why not?
After all, Sapp was coming off of breakout 2024 campaign in which he racked up 47 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, seven sacks and a couple of forced fumbles, establishing himself as one of the top defenders in the SEC.
However, this past season, Sapp's production fell off a cliff, as he finished with 34 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss and a sack.
It's hard to determine what exactly happened to Sapp, but NFL teams obviously took notice, and he ended up going undrafted entirely over the weekend.
The Cleveland Browns ultimately signed Sapp as a free agent, and now, he will have to fight tooth and nail just to earn a roster spot on a bad team next season.
Sapp still has potential. Unless 2024 was a one-year wonder, he flashed considerable ability that season, and while he is a bit undersized height-wise at 6-foot-2, he weighs a firm 273 pounds.

In fact, Lance Zierlein of NFL.com thinks Sapp could compete as a 3-tech on the professional level if he adds some weight to his frame. Perhaps that is the most realistic path to playing time for the Fort Lauderdale native.
But Sapp had one of the most significant slides of any prospect heading into this draft class. That includes players like Drew Allar and Cade Klubnik, who were viewed as potential No. 1 overall selections but instead fell to Rounds 3 and 4, respectively.
Sapp didn't even get drafted. Talk about a wakeup call. In fact, Sapp's former Gators teammate, George Gumbs Jr., went in the fifth round to the Indianapolis Colts in spite of never being perceived nearly as highly as Sapp was before 2025.
The fall of Sapp should absolutely serve as a cautionary tale to any player on the collegiate level who has a strong junior campaign. Either take advantage of the moment and enter the NFL Draft while you can, or you better make sure that your final season is a great one.
