Former Florida Gators star quarterback Anthony Richardson has again surfaced in NFL trade rumors.

Anthony Richardson was the starting quarterback for the Florida Gators during the 2022 college football season. It appeared that he was on the fast track for NFL stardom.

During that 2022 season, Richardson ended up completing 53.8 percent of his pass attempts for 2,549 yards, 17 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. He also ran for 654 yards and nine touchdowns that year.

Following that season, Richardson was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. He seemed destined to be the savior for a franchise that had badly needed a long-term franchise quarterback. Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case.

Throughout his first three NFL seasons, Richardson has been injured far too often. Last season, he was benched in favor of Daniel Jones. His spot with the Colts seems to be gone.

In the three seasons he has played, Richardson has appeared in 17 games. He has completed just 50.6 percent of his passes for 2,400 yards, 11 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions, while also running for 634 yards and another 10 scores. Those numbers aren't going to get the job done.

With that in mind, trade rumors have been surrounding Richardson throughout the course of the 2026 NFL offseason.

Indianapolis seems more than open to trading the young quarterback. If the right trade were offered from another team, the Colts would almost certainly pull the trigger.

Keeping that in mind, ESPN's Ben Solak has come up with an interesting suggestion.

Solak believes that the Green Bay Packers would be a prime fit for Richardson. He came up with a trade proposal that would see Indianapolis trade Richardson to the Packers in exchange for a 2027 fifth-round pick.

Richardson ending up in Green Bay would be an ideal scenario. Matt LaFleur, the head coach of the Packers, is one of the best coaches in the NFL at developing quarterbacks. He would also have a chance to learn behind Jordan Love.

Expect to continue hearing rumors about the former Florida star. Richardson has had a disappointing start to his NFL career, but is just 24 years old with time to fix things.
