An NFL team has received a warning about Florida Gators star Caleb Banks.

Florida Gators defensive tackle Caleb Banks has turned into one of the more polarizing prospects in this year's NFL Draft.

A couple of months ago, Banks was rocketing up draft boards and was even viewed by some as a potential top-10 pick.

Things have since changed.

Banks suffered a fracture in his foot the night before the Scouting Combine. He proceeded to due a partial workout at the event not knowing of the injury, but it was later revealed, and he had to undergo surgery.

That marked the second time in six months that Banks had to have surgery to repair a broken foot. He played just three games for Florida in 2025 as a result, so naturally, teams are skeptical.

One potential fit for Banks is the Buffalo Bills, but Bleacher Report's Alex Ballentine feels that the Bills should avoid the star defender.

"Banks has a lot of upside, but he also brings a risky profile. Banks missed nearly all of the 2025 season with a foot injury and broke his foot at the NFL Combine," Ballentine wrote. "Banks's size is a big part of his allure as a prospect, but a big prospect with a history of foot injuries is concerning enough for the Bills to steer clear."

Banks stands 6-foot-6 and weighs 330 pounds, so his size is beyond elite for a defensive tackle. Not only that, but he possesses freakish athleticism, making him a tantalizing prospect.

But his injury history is worrisome, to say the least, and it's also not like Banks has a long track record of production.

The 22-year-old began his collegiate career at Louisville in 2021 and spent two years with the Cardinals before transferring to Florida in 2023.

His most productive campaign came in 2024, when he registered 21 tackles, seven tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks. Solid numbers, but definitely nothing eye-popping.

The hype surrounding Banks is mostly due to his unique blend of size and athleticism, but there is now a chance that the Detroit native could slip into the second round.

There is no question that Banks could represent a steal for whoever drafts him, but he is also a risky pick.
