Star Florida wide receiver Dallas Wilson is out for the rest of the season after a foot injury sustained against Georgia. The freshman will be eligible to claim 2025 as a redshirt season because he only appeared in four games.

Florida Gators freshman receiver Dallas Wilson is out for the remainder of the season with a foot injury, first reported CBS Sports. The five-star talent injured his foot late in the first half in UF's loss to Georgia. After going to the locker room following the injury, he returned to the sideline in the second half wearing a walking boot.

The news is a tough blow for a team that already lost its head coach and play-caller when Billy Napier was fired two weeks ago. Wilson's debut after missing the first four games of the season provided a spark to UF's offense, giving quarterback DJ Lagway a reliable deep threat.

In three three-and-a-half games on the field for UF this season, Wilson had 12 catches for 162 yards and three touchdowns. His 13.5 yards per catch underlines his importance in moving the chains for UF during his brief time.

Wilson is eligible to claim 2025 as a redshirt season since he only appeared in four games. That gives him four more years of eligibility, either with the Gators or elsewhere. Wilson is also eligible to enter the transfer portal immediately, a result of the 30-day transfer window afford all players after their head coach is fired.

There wouldn't be much benefit to Wilson entering the portal now, but keeping the star receiver on campus will be one of the top priorities for the new head coach once hired.

Florida lost to Georgia on Saturday, dropping the Gators to 3-5 overall and 2-3 in the SEC. Next up for UF are consecutive road games at Kentucky and Ole Miss, followed by back-to-back home games against Tennessee and Florida State.
