Turns out Mike Norvell wasn't through adding to the Florida State 2026 coaching staff. 

He's officially announced Gabe Fertitta as the director of football strategy -- which additionally brings a past FSU assistant back to Tallahassee. Fertitta is a former offensive analyst from 2022 to 2024 at FSU. He previously served as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Nicholls State. 

"My family and I are extremely grateful to Coach Norvell and the Florida State administration for this opportunity to return to Tallahassee and rejoin such a great program," Fertitta said in a news release. "I look forward to working with the outstanding young men in our program, not only to develop them as players but also to guide them into becoming great representatives of Florida State University."
