Florida State wiped away a 14-point deficit to outscore Boston College 48-30 in the second half.
That final 20-minute surge propelled the Seminoles to an 80-72 home victory inside the Tucker Center on Tuesday night.
FSU entered the game having won three of its last four Atlantic Coast Conference games. Thoughts of a surprise March Madness run started to manifest in Tallahassee.
But the Eagles had them against the ropes early on.
Boston College created an early 16-0 run to silence the FSU crowd early on. Luka Toews sparked the scoring roll by hitting a 25-foot three-pointer to tie things up 8-8. Fred Payne followed with a floating jump shot to place BC ahead.
Toews later came back with another three, this one from 24 feet. Aidan Shaw and Chase Forte added to the scoring run -- the latter scoring five straight points to put the visitors up 21-8.
FSU briefly responded with Alex Steen putting the basketball inside the hoop for the Seminoles' next five points. BC led 42-32 at the half.
But again, Boston College built its biggest lead at 14 -- leading 52-38 early in the second half with Toews making a nine-foot floating jump shot.
Robert McCray V ended the run by swishing his four free throws. Toews again made it a 14-point lead by banking a 14-footer to make it 59-45.
Martin Somerville ignited FSU's rally with a driving layup at the nine-minute mark. Thomas Bassong followed by hitting a 22-foot three-pointer to cut the lead to 61-54. Robert McCray V followed with his own driving layup that sliced the lead to 61-56. He later nailed a free throw to cut the lead to four.
MCray then followed a Steen layup with a long 25-footer from behind the arc that turned the BC lead into 63-62. The Eagles eventually lost a late 68-63 advantage with one last FSU rally.
Fred Payne tied the game up for BC at 70 with 2:04 to go. But the Noles ended the night on a 10-2 run to even their record at 13-13 overall.
Wiggins' 25-footer fired up the crowd and sparked the final FSU run. McCray tacked on a layup and free throw. Somerville scored the final points from the white stripe.
McCray led the way with 27 points. Steen added 13 points while Wiggins tacked on 11. Jones finished with 10.
