There will be past Florida State representation inside Levi's Stadium on Sunday. But which Seminoles star could be on the cusp of joining an exclusive list at the school?

Florida State football is almost a sure bet to have an annual role in the Super Bowl.

No, the Seminoles don't have a deep lineup of past stars cluttering the field compared to Alabama, Ohio State or even North Dakota State (the NFC champs have two offensive linemen from the latter).

But one thing is certain -- someone who starred in Tallahassee will earn his ring.

However, one could join an exclusive Super Bowl list involving FSU. So who is it from Tallahassee?

Joshua Farmer of the New England Patriots won't take the field Sunday, as he landed on injured reserve Saturday.

But on the opposite side, Cam Akers got elevated to the active roster ahead of the big game for the Seattle Seahawks. That means Akers could earn one more ring.

The running back last touched the Vince Lombardi Trophy inside SoFi Stadium four years ago with the Los Angeles Rams. Akers even overcame a torn Achilles before training camp to suit up in the big game versus the Cincinnati Bengals.

FSU has produced 45 different Super Bowl winners, including Akers. But Akers will join the following players from Florida State who won multiple rings, if his Seahawks win on Sunday:

* J.T. Thomas, four victories with the Pittsburgh Steelers during the 1970s;

* Dedrick Dodge, Super Bowl wins with the San Francisco 49ers (1994 season) and Denver Broncos (1997);

* Deion Sanders, consecutive victories with the 49ers (1994) and Dallas Cowboys (1995);

* Bryant McFadden, two titles as a Steeler in 2005 and 2008;

* Derrick Nnadi, three championships with the Kansas City Chiefs (2019, 2022, 2023).

Akers is now positioned to become the sixth former Seminole to claim two Super Bowl rings. He's even chasing this title with two of his ex-Rams teammates from the 2021 season in wide receiver Cooper Kupp and linebacker Ernest Jones IV.

Will Akers Have Big Role?

Akers earns a crucial elevation here via the NFC champs.

Seattle gashed defenses with the two-headed combination of Kenneth Walker III and Zach Charbonnet. The Seahawks produced the league's 10th-best rushing attack behind both.

Charbonnet, however, is ruled out after tearing his ACL during the NFC playoffs. He wasn't even on the field for the conference title game. George Holani entered the picture as the only other healthy active roster member.

But Akers goes from practice squad to suiting up on Sunday. He'll hand FSU fans a new reason to lock in on Seahawks versus the Patriots.
