Jemari Foreman rejected 25 offers, including a late push from Louisville, to solidify Mike Norvell’s secondary. The ball-hawking safety brings elite production to the Seminoles' growing 2027 class.

Committed to the Florida State Seminoles since September 2025, 3-star safety Jemari Foreman has shut down his recruitment. Despite a strong pursuit by the Louisville Cardinals, Foreman is staying true to his word and remains committed to Mike Norvell and the Seminoles.

Foreman held 26 scholarship offers, and chose Florida State over offers from Auburn, defending national champion Indiana, national runner-up Miami, Oklahoma, Pitt and Virginia Tech, to name a few.

At 6-0, 180 pounds, Foreman is active and productive around the football. In 2025 at Plantation High School, he posted 70 tackles, nine tackles for loss, 11 pass breakups, 10 interceptions, two forced fumbles and a sack. Foreman’s 10 INTs were the second most in talent rich state of Florida last season. Foreman will play his senior season at Cypress Bay High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

With Foreman’s commitment secured, Florida State’s class of 2027 now stands at No. 11 and ranks No. 57 in the country. In the 17-team ACC, the Seminoles’ recruiting class is ranked No. 16. So far, Foreman is the only defensive back in the 2027 class.

The Seminoles are also pursuing two 4-star defensive prospects: safety Ta’Shawn Poole and defensive lineman Sam LeJuene. Both have Florida State as making the final cut of school choices. According to crystal ball predictions on 247 Sports, both Poole and LeJeune are leaning toward pledging with Florida State.

Combining Foreman with Poole would make a formidable duo patrolling the secondary for the Seminoles in the near future.

Florida State’s aggressiveness in recruiting has paid off, especially in the month of June. Six of the eleven recruits have committed within the last couple of weeks, and over half of the class will line up on the defensive side of the ball.

The Florida State pass defense was among the best in the ACC last season, ranked No.2 (No. 28 nationally) and allowed 190 passing yards per game, as they gave up 20 touchdown passes and recorded 12 interceptions. The Seminoles welcome back defensive back Ja’bril Rawls in 2026. Rawls is a preseason All-ACC selection by college football analyst Phil Steele.

They used to say that recruiting was the lifeblood of a football program. With the advent of NIL and the transfer portal, whether that ethos still holds true is a matter of some debate.

When it comes to recruiting the high school ranks, these prep stars have little margin for error in how they approach their recruitment process. Production on the field, how they carry themselves off the field, and success in the classroom all factor into the process of setting themselves apart from the crowd.

Foreman has done what it takes to put himself in a position to earn a college scholarship offer from a D-1 program. The amount of scholarship offers from any given school can and will be impacted by NIL and the portal in the future, and have done so already. High school recruits need to understand these impacts going forward and act accordingly.
