Mike Norvell’s recruiting hot streak continues as the Seminoles flip the script on LSU and Ohio State, landing a blue-chip playmaker to anchor their surging 2027 class.
The Florida State Seminoles are finally hitting their stride in the recruiting world, as they secure a fourth commit in the last twenty days.
Ever since Norvell and his staff started their official visit weekends, this one was by far the most successful one.
After locking in four-star LB Jernard Albright just a day ago, the Seminoles now have an official commit from yet another blue-chip talent, 4-star RB Jayden Miles.
Rumors and inside chatter always had Miles leaning towards FSU, and they proved to be true on Monday when the Catholic High School prospect announced his commitment after his OV this weekend.
What’s even more impressive is the Seminoles lured Miles out of the recruiting efforts from LSU Tigers, his hometown program, and Ohio State.
Ranked as the No. 27 RB in the Class of 2027 by Rivals, Miles is a Top 15 prospect nationally, making his commitment a massive win for the Seminoles. He joins Albright in the list of the highest-ranked prospects in Norvell’s Class of 2027.
Jayden Miles Opens Up on FSU Visit
When speaking about his official visit and what convinced him to sign up with Norvell, he mentioned the FSU head coach, position coach Kam Martin, and offensive assistant and FSU’s director of football strategy Gab Fertitta being the key staffers in the process.
“One of the biggest highlights of getting back to Florida State University was reconnecting with Mike Norvell, Coach Kam, and Coach Gabe. Being around them again reminded me why I connected with the program in the first place. They made me feel welcomed, and it was great to sit down and talk football, development, and my future,” Miles told Rivals after his official visit.
FSU was the first school to offer Miles, back in May of 2024. Fertitta, during a prior stint on the staff at FSU, extended that offer. Miles unofficially visited FSU later that same summer and then returned within the past month for his official visit.
"To start it off, I felt like this was a great weekend," Miles told Noles247 following his OV. "You could just tell, like the energy, the relationships that they have here. It's very, it's phenomenal. They are doing a phenomenal job with that.”
"I just feel like Florida State, they're going to be one of the ones, like they are coming back," he added. "I feel like they've got that juice now. I feel like they're going to be coming back from last year. Last year wasn't a great season, but I feel like Coach Norvell, he's going to make sure things right and get things going."
Norvell has been on the hot seat lately, and another season, one that Miles expects, is exactly what he needs to get out of it. With Gus Malzahn now on the offensive play-calling and some impressive commits coming in, FSU’s Class of 2027 will be the unit to look out for.
