Betting Odds: Florida State -6.5-point favorite

Boston College’s best-looking win of those four so far is a victory over Pittsburgh, who is 6-3 on the season.

However, the Eagles are coming off a 47-2 loss to Duke.

The Blue Devils held the Eagles to just 213 total yards of offense, including 78 yards rushing.

Boston College do-it-all quarterback Mason McKenzie was held to 111 yards of total offense.

For the season, McKenzie has gained 2,088 total yards of offense and scored 13 touchdowns.

On defense for Boston College, linebacker Anthony Palano is a player to watch. In eight games, Palano has two interceptions, and leads the team in tackles (69) and tackles for loss (7.5).

DB Charlie Comella has picked off four passes this season and has added 32 tackles. He returned one of his interceptions for a touchdown.

The Eagles’ defense has allowed over 360 yards of total offense in each of their last three games.

For Florida State, squandered leads on the road at Alabama and Louisville have haunted the Seminoles all season.

Going forward, the strength of this team will have to be the passing game. That’s because the rushing attack is down three players.

Running backs Ousmane Kromah and Samuel Singleton Jr. are out for the season, and Tre Wisner is nursing an injury that will keep him out of this game.

Quarterback Ashton Daniels and his receivers will have to lead the Seminoles to victory.

Daniels has accounted for 2,343 yards of total offense and 26 total touchdowns. He also leads the ACC in interceptions with 11.

Duce Robinson has been lost for the rest of the season with a knee injury. Jayvan Boggs and Micahi Danzy are the primary targets now on the perimeter for Daniels.

Both Boggs (1 TD) and Danzy (3 TDs) have over 400 yards receiving.

Ball security will be paramount not only against the Eagles but for the rest of the season.

To say that the Seminoles defense has to play better is a gross understatement.

Over the course of their three-game losing streak, the Seminoles have allowed over 1,400 yards of total offense. They have allowed 36 points or more in each of those losses.

Further, they have not been able to stop the run. The Seminoles have allowed 816 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns.

After the firing of Mike Norvell, interim head coach Rick Stockstill, interim defensive coordinator Ernie Sims, and offensive coordinator Tim Harris Jr. have a new lease on a football life.

This “new” coaching staff has a garnet and golden opportunity to turn several pages in the playbook.

They can try some new plays that will put the Seminoles in position to win their remaining games.

A win at Boston College would be the confidence boost the Seminoles desperately need right now.
