Fresh off Jayden Miles’ commitment, Mike Norvell targets defensive lineman Jason Lewis. With a decision looming July 10, the Seminoles aim to beat Syracuse for the versatile playmaker.
Lately, Florida State has been dealing with some heartbreaking updates, like Mekhi Williams and then Cam Wade flipping their commitment from the Seminoles.
However, the recruiting roller coaster also brought several ups for Florida State, like four-star prospects Jernard Albright and Jayden Miles committing on back-to-back days.
So far, Norvell’s Class of 2027 has 9 commits, but looking at the momentum Norvell has built this week, more names adding to the list will hardly be a shocker.
One of them is DL Jason Lewis. Lewis just wrapped up his official visit this past weekend, and has already been crystal-balled twice to land with FSU.
The best part about his official visit was he left with FSU on top of his list.

"Florida State is on top of the board," Lewis told Noles247. "This visit was honestly great when it came down to meeting with the coaches, finding my fit, meeting with Coach Norvell, hanging around the players, photo shoots, eating. Anything that I did down here just had a purpose, felt real."
The Kissimmee, Florida native produced at a high level during his junior season when he had 37 tackles (12 for loss) and seven sacks.
The only concern as of now in officially getting a commitment from Lweis would be Syracuse. The three-star talent mentioned him waiting on wrapping up his official visit to Syracuse before announcing his decision, and cancelling every other scheduled OV beyond that.
"I'm visiting Syracuse and I'm done," Lewis said. "No Kentucky, no Duke, no Boston College, no nothing. Syracuse and that's it."
"I fit everywhere, play everywhere. I'm a versatile guy. I never live in just one position because that's not what they're recruiting me for. They're recruiting me because I'm physical and I can play all different positions,” Lewis further added of his visit and impression of FSU.
Beyond the football conversations, Lewis said spending the weekend with player host Jalen Anderson gave him a genuine behind-the-scenes look at the program.
DL coach Terrence Knighton has also been a crucial part of Lewis’s recruitment process.
With Syracuse the only standing competition in Lewis’s recruiting battle, the Seminoles can expect to be the last man standing when the Osceola product announces his decision on July 10.
FSU might already have a good number of defensive linemen lined up, but they might not take their foot off the pedal just yet, especially not for a prospect they’ve been courting for quite a while now.
