Jashaun Corbin’s decisive touchdown at Fort Hood propelled Orlando to a historic victory, clinching a postseason berth while solidifying the Storm’s position atop the league standings.
In the only professional football game ever played on a military installation, the UFL’s Orlando Storm (6-2) blew into Fort Hood, Texas, and Phantom Warrior Stadium on Friday night to take on the Dallas Renegades.
Storm running back Jashaun Corbin, a former Florida State standout under coach Mike Norvell, scored a touchdown to give his team the lead for good and the Storm defeated the Renegades 31-24 to secure a playoff berth. It was Dallas’s fifth consecutive loss.
The top four teams in the standings advance to the playoffs. Coming into the week 8 slate, three teams were tied for the league lead: DC Defenders, St. Louis Battlehawks, and Orlando.
Now, the Storm has a one-game lead over the rest of the league. Orlando kicked off the 2026 season with four straight victories and is now on a two-game winning streak.
In an interview with Jeannine Edwards, when asked who is the biggest headache in the UFL, Corbin replied, “I think we're the biggest headache.”
“You can’t go 12-0 without going 1-0 each week. So, that’s kind of the goal we have,” Corbin said.
When asked about how to get the attention of the NFL after being in the UFL for two years, Corbin said “Team success leads to personal success. So, the more we win, the more NFL scouts want to watch winning teams.”
“And you know, with the UFL, it's hard because you only get a month to really mesh. Within those 30 days, we became a team, and it shows on the field. We all give it 100% for each other. Coach Baker did a good job of vetting the guys that he wants. Everybody in there is team-oriented. Anthony back in the Orlando Storm,” Corbin said.
Corbin leads the Storm with 364 rushing yards and three touchdowns, two of which came in the season-opener against the Columbus Aviators. He also has shown good receiving skills out of the backfield, with 25 catches for 144 yards and a score.
In 2025, Corbin led the UFL in rushing with 514 yards and four touchdowns and was named to the All-UFL team as a member of the San Antonio Brahmas.
Corbin came to the UFL by way of Florida State and previous stints in the NFL. He played for five different NFL teams, mostly as a practice squad player. Corbin played two seasons at Florida State and turned in an all-conference season in 2021, rushing for 887 yards and seven touchdowns, and he averaged 6.2 yards per carry. For his efforts, Corbin was named third-team All-ACC.
Orlando has two regular-season games remaining, both against DC in consecutive weeks.
