The Florida State Seminoles finally get some much-awaited updates on kickoff times, network information on key matchups against Alabama, Pitt, and Louisville for the 2026 season.
Florida State head coach Mike Norvell is in for a rough fight this season.
Especially with the hot seat chatter getting louder each day.
Even with the regular season being about 90 days away, the anticipation for the 2026 season is getting hotter. SEC schools announcing kickoff times and networks for some of the marquee matchups in 2026 just upped the notch on that already heightening anticipation.
FSU announced kickoff times and networks for some of their biggest games this season against Alabama, Louisville, Pitt, and Mexico State, that has the entire Tallahassee crowd charged up.
Florida State Kickoff Time and Network
The Seminoles open their season against New Mexico State at home. The season opener is all set for August 29 at 7 p.m. on the CW. The game will be followed by a Sep. 7 Labor Day game vs. SMU at 7:30 p.m. telecasted on ESPN.
An open date on Sep. 12 later, FSU heads to Tuscaloosa to take on the Alabama Crimson Tide on Sep. 19 at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
The kickoff also gave FSU much-needed clarity on all three of it’s Friday games. A visit to Louisville on Oct. 9 for a 7 p.m. showdown to be telecast on ESPN, and another trip to Pittsburgh to take on the Panthers on Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. on ESPN.
All the regular-season thrills lead the Seminoles to the day everyone in Florida desperately awaits each season: the Sunshine Shutdown.
This season, the Gators head to Tallahassee to take on Norvell’s squad in the rivalry week.
FSU, and mainly Norvell, will have a chance to get revenge for last season's embarrassing 40-21 loss. A win against Florida will greatly impact the hot seat talks that would follow after the Nov. 27 showdown. About the kickoff at 3:30 p.m., FSU vs. Florida will be telecast on ABC.
The Seminoles are yet to receive kickoff times and networks on several other big games like ACC threats Miami, Clemson, and NC State, and other teams on their schedule like Central Arkansas.
Last season was the worst type of roller coaster for any FSU fan. For a season that started with a massive upset over Alabama as their season opener, and climbing all the way to No. 7 in the AP Poll, only to end with a heartbreaking 5-7 (2-6) ACC record, was a disappointing order.
It was the primary reason behind the growing frustration over Norvell almost reaching its ceiling and the calls to fire him getting louder.
Last season saw many firings even in the middle of the season, and Norvell will absolutely be under the microscope each week for improvement this season.
