Link Jarrett bolsters a top-ten transfer class by flipping the former Georgia Bulldog and MLB draftee, adding an elite left-handed power bat to the Seminoles’ future outfield.
Florida State baseball landed another prized commit Thursday as Ty Peeples announced his commitment to the Seminoles on X.
Initially committed to the Georgia Bulldogs, the Georgia native was a Peeples was a top-60 recruit in the 2025 high school class.
Peeples spent his true freshman season with the Bulldogs getting limited action, appearing in 32 games mostly as a late-game option or pinch hitter, logging just 17 official at-bats.
However, Peeples chose to explore his options after a lone season in Athens, entering the transfer portal.
Because his high school pedigree is so massive, entering the transfer portal immediately turned him into a highly coveted free agent. Florida State pounced on him to fill a future corner outfield spot.

That is also the type of caliber that the Toronto Blue Jays were immediately sold on when they drafted him.
He is a 6-foot-2, 185-pound, left-handed hitting outfielder with serious raw power and a smooth, fluid swing. Because of his massive upside, some scouts thought he could go as high as the 4th to 7th rounds if a team felt confident they could sign him.
Instead, his firm commitment to UGA caused him to slide on draft day. That's when the Toronto Blue Jays stepped up in the 20th round (592nd overall) of the 2025 MLB Draft to take a flyer on him.
As expected, Peeples passed on the Blue Jays' late-round cash offer to head to campus. He spent his true freshman season playing in the SEC for the Georgia Bulldogs, getting his feet wet against elite college pitching while working to refine his hit tool and cut down on some swing-and-miss tendencies.
The Blue Jays knew his price tag was sky-high because of his commitment to the hometown Bulldogs, but they used their final pick to test his resolve anyway.
What Peeples' Commitment Means for FSU
Seeing Peeples play for a powerhouse like FSU will be exciting for the Seminoles fans, since he is an SEC kid through and through. How he navigates this ACC shift will decide how his trajectory shapes up.
And, besides that, a commitment from Peeples means another feather in Link Jarrett’s hat.
The transfer portal hasn’t even wrapped up, and still, FSU’s incoming haul is locked in as a consensus top-10 transfer class nationally.
The Seminoles are stacking up on big-time pitchers, and with all the transfers they’ve already lined up, like Even Chrest, Joey Volini, and Peyton Prescott, FSU is positioned to have one of the most feared portal classes in the country when the dust settles next month.
