Quarterback commit Logan Flaherty is leading the charge to flip four-star wideout Sean Green as the Seminoles battle Georgia to secure a cornerstone for their 2027 class.
Florida State is this close to locking in the prospect they have been chasing for quite a while now, wide receiver Sean Green.
FSU’s recent quarterback commit, Logan Flaherty feels that Green is about to announce his decision soon, and his official visit at FSU this weekend went “great.”
"I think it went great. I think he's making a decision here soon, but I think it was a great weekend for him,” Flaherty said.
“Me and him got really close, we connected. We spent a lot of time together and I think Florida State's taking a big leap in his recruitment. If not, they're in first place from what I understand. I think, hopefully, he'll be making a decision here soon. But I think it was a great weekend for him."
Green’s name has been buzzing with Florida State for quite a while now. 247 Sports’ prediction meter even has FSU as “warm” on Green’s list of future schools.
Georgia a Major Threat for FSU in Sean Green Recruiting Battle
The Georgia Bulldogs remain as a primary competitor to Norvell’s efforts of locking in Green. The Bulldogs are a heavyweight contender, the only one with FSU, in Green’s recruiting battle.
Kirby Smart is hardly the type of head coach to let in-state four-star talent like Green commit elsewhere. That said, the Camden County’s product had already wrapped up his official visit with Georgia last weekend and has yet to announce his decision. This means he was waiting for his visit to Tallahassee.
Rivals' Sam Spiegelman also reported that Green is leaning towards Florida State, and that his final choice will be between the Bulldogs and the Seminoles.
Being the only QB commit in Norvell’s Class of 2027, Flaherty is particularly excited to hear Green’s decision being in FLorida’s favor. The Seminoles are yet to have a hard WR commit in their Class of 2027. It is also the reason why Flaherty’s been making recruiting efforts as the face of Norvell’s 2027 class in convincing Green to commit to FSU.
Malzhan’s offense saw a ton of improvement last season. If a wideout like Green commits to FSU, and he builds enough chemistry till next season, the Seminoles offense could soon climb up the ranks as one of the most formidable.
“I feel like as a quarterback commit, and a guy who truly believes in Coach Norvell and what they're doing,” Flaherty said. “I have to be the one that pushes that perspective a little bit from my side of things and maybe give them my story and how I got to to this point and explain to them why I think Florida State is a place to be and continue to, just like you said, be the ambassador to build that trust with Florida State and continue to get these guys to understand that there's not a better place to be in the country.”
Flaherty added when asked about why he’s potting such efforts in recruiting alongside Norvell. It will be much sooner than later that FSU finds out whether Flaherty’s efforts hit the bullseye.
