It's been a disappointing season for both sides of the annual rivalry tilt. The game in Florida may come down to psychology instead of Xs and Os.

The Florida State Seminoles (5-6) play the Florida Gators (3-8) this Saturday in Gainesville. Kickoff at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium is set for 4:30 p.m. on ESPN2. Both teams are hoping to end their seasons on a high note with a rivalry win after disappointing results in 2025.

Here's everything you need to know about Florida before this weekend's game.

Florida Gators - the Names and Numbers to Know

2025 results: The Gators have been one of the country's most disappointing teams in 2025. Head coach Billy Napier started the year on the hot seat and only made it to the middle of October before losing his job. Since then, interim head coach Billy Gonzales has gone 0-4.

Much of UF's struggles come down to regression by sophomore quarterback DJ Lagway, though there is a laundry list of problems that go beyond his play.

By The Numbers: The Gators are scoring 19.9 points per game (121st of 136 nationwide), while allowing 24.3 points per game (66th of 136). UF's passing game has been dismal under Lagway, averaging just 207 yards per game, compounded by his 13 interceptions. The Gators are being out-gained by an average of 41.7 yards per game, ceding 374.1 yards per contest.

Leading Passer: DJ Lagway - 198-for-313, 2,096 yards, 13 touchdowns, 13 interceptions

Leading Receiver: Vernell Brown III - 36 catches, 487 yards, zero touchdowns, 13.5 yards per catch

Leading Rusher: Jadan Baugh - 182 rushes, 905 yards, six touchdowns, 5.0 yards per rush

Leading Tackler: Linebacker Myles Graham - 68 tackles, six tackles for loss

Game Analysis: This game is as much about the psychology on the sidelines as it is the play calls on the field. Both teams are moderately talented, both teams have underperformed, both teams have an eye on 2026 already, and presumably, both teams want to finish on a high note with a rivalry win. FSU looked better in recent games than UF, but the Gators are slight favorites at home. Win goes to the team that wants it the most?
