It has been over 1.000 days since the Florida State Seminoles have won a road game. They are 0-11 since a win at Florida in 2023. However, the Seminoles are playing their best football right now, and are looking for their third straight win of the season on the road at Louisville.

On November 25, 2023, the Florida State Seminoles notched a 24-15 victory over arch-rival Florida in The Swamp in Gainesville to cap off an undefeated regular season. Unfortunately for the Seminoles, that was the last road win enjoyed by the Seminoles.

Since then, Florida State (3-2, 1-1 in the ACC) has gone 0-11 in road games. Currently on a two-game winning streak, and playing dominant football, the Seminoles believe they can bring that road losing streak to an end at Louisville (2-3, 1-2 in the ACC) on Friday night.

Louisville Cardinals

The Cardinals’ three losses have been close, each of them by three points. They are on a two-game losing streak. Louisville fields one of the best offenses in the ACC, however. They are No. 2 in the conference at 486 yards of total offense per game.

Coach Jeff Brohm’s offense is triggered by quarterback Lincoln Keinholz, a transfer from Ohio State. Kienholz has accounted for 15 total touchdowns this season, and has averaged 278 passing yards per game so far this season.

In the rushing department, what can the Brown’s do for you? Running backs Keyjuan Brown and Isaac Brown have combined for 689 yards and five touchdowns at the midway point of the season.

On the perimeter, receivers Tre Richardson and former Florida State pass-catcher Lawayne McCoy will present a significant challenge to a Seminoles pass defense. Florida State allows their opponents 265 yards per game through the air and has given up nine touchdowns.

Richardson leads the Cardinals with 445 receiving yards (3rd in the ACC), and has scored two touchdowns. McCoy leads the team with four receiving touchdowns and has averaged over 20 yards per catch (2nd in the ACC).

On defense, however, Louisville is one of the worst in the ACC and college football. Florida State will look to take advantage of their leaking sieve of a defense that has allowed eight passing touchdowns and eight rushing touchdowns.

Florida State Seminoles

The Seminoles have found new life over the last two weeks, outscoring their opponents 72-14. They are coming off a dominant performance, on both sides of the ball, in a 38-7 win over Virginia.

Quarterback Ashton Daniels set a school record with five rushing touchdowns against the Cavaliers. On defense, the Seminoles collected 10 sacks and stymied the Virginia passing game.

Daniels now has 15 total touchdowns on the season, and ranks among the top-three nationally in rushing touchdowns with nine.

Running back Ousmane Kromah continues to bring his tough style of running the football, and is second in the nation in forced missed tackles with 37, forcing missed tackles 43 percent of the time.

Kromah has rushed for 477 yards and five touchdowns, and has averaged 5.89 yards per carry.

The defense has improved considerably, and is ranked No. 7 nationally in sacks (17) and No. 19 in tackles for loss (36). That could prove to be a challenge to the Louisville running backs getting past the first level of an inspired Florida State defensive front.

Almost three calendar years without a road win is a long time. That kind of negativity can be set in stone in the football psyche of most teams.

But the Seminoles are playing their best football right now. If they can continue this upward trajectory, Florida State has a good chance to get their third consecutive win and their second ACC victory of the season.
