Florida State receiver Duce Robinson has taken his heart and soul from the gridiron and applied it to the area of academics and community service.
Florida State receiver Duce Robinson has been named a finalist for the prestigious William V. Campbell Trophy.
According to the National Football Foundation, the Campbell Trophy is the premier scholar-athlete award and “recognizes an individual as the absolute best in the nation for his combined academic success, football performance and exemplary leadership.”
Robinson graduated magna cum laude from Florida State over the summer with a 3.90 GPA in interdisciplinary social science.
He was a 2025 CSC First Team Academic All-American – the school’s first in 14 years, and earned a spot on the All-ACC Academic Team.
Further, he earned ACC Academic Honor Roll honors and was on Florida State’s President’s and Dean’s List.
On the gridiron, Robinson has been a captain for both his seasons at Florida State. He earned Third Team All-America and First Team All-ACC honors for the Seminoles in 2025.
Last season, Robinson was Florida State’s offensive MVP. Robinson caught 56 passes for 1,081 yards and six touchdowns.
Robinson was the Seminoles first 1,000-yard receiver since 2019.
This season, Robinson has 22 catches for 407 yards and four touchdowns, which leads the team. He had a breakout game against the Miami Hurricanes last Saturday night.
Against the Hurricanes, Robinson hauled in five catches for 113 yards and two touchdowns. He averaged 22.60 yards per catch.
In his community, Robinson raised over $10,000 for Special Olympics Florida through his charity pickleball tournament.
In addition, he coached young football players through Next Level Flag Football, and participated in literacy programs throughout the Tallahassee area.
Robinson is Florida State’s ninth NFF National Scholar-Athlete in school history, and the first since 2010.
Finalists are part of a class of NFF National Scholar-Athletes. They will receive an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship to further their education.
Further, the finalists will be invited to attend the 68th National Football Foundation Annual Awards dinner in Las Vegas on December 8.
One member of this outstanding class will win the 37th Campbell Trophy and have his postgraduate scholarship increased to $25,000.
Before the Miami game, Robinson had seemingly been left out of the offensive game plan.
Robinson’s performance against the Hurricanes was just his second 100-yard receiving game of the season.
Further, it was only the second time this season where he had five or more catches in a game.
With star running back Ousmane Kromah going down with an injury, Robinson being targeted more in a re-focused passing attack is crucial for the Seminoles’ success in the second half of the season.
