
Tournament MVP Jazzy Francik and a powerhouse roster dominate the conference honors as the clinical Seminoles secure their 20th ACC title and charge toward the Tallahassee Regional.
No. 10 Florida State softball had four players selected to the All ACC Tournament Team.
Jazzy Francik was the tournament MVP, and Isa Torres, Jaysoni Beachum and Ashtyn Danley all made the All ACC-Tournament Team.
This comes after the Noles (49-8) won their 19th regular season title, and its 20th ACC Championship defeating Virginia Tech Hokies in a 2-1 pitchers duel. The Noles had eight players listed on the All-ACC regular season teams, and lead the ACC with the most selections to this year's All Tournament Team with Virginia Tech coming in second with three selections.
Francik pitched 11.2 innings during this tournament giving up one earned run. She held opponents to a .154 batting average while boasting an 0.77 ERA.The sophomore struck out six batters in the ACC title game. During the regular season she threw three complete game shutouts. Francik was twice named the ACC Pitcher of the Week and was named ACC Pitcher of the Year.
Torres went 3-for-7 while scoring five runs in the ACC tournament. In the first tournament game of the year she scored both runs to beat Georgia Tech. Not only was Torres the ACC Player of the Year this season, but with zero errors in 160 chances during the regular season she was also named the ACC Defensive Player of the Year.
Torres also set an NCAA consecutive hit streak with 16 hits in 16 straight at bats. Torres was the offensive engine during Florida State's 25-game winning streak this season.
Beachum has reached base in 45 consecutive games. The All ACC selection was named ACC Player of the Week earlier this season and has been an elite defender at third base all season. Beachum batted over .400 in each game of the ACC tournament and earlier this season was listed as the No. 2 third baseman in the nation by Softball America.
Danley is an outstanding utility player who took home ACC Pitcher of the Week earlier this season. Danley has been the second part of FSU’s 1-2 punch with Francik and Danley on the mound. Danley went 3-for-3 with a three RBI performance against No. 17 Stanford in the ACC Tournament.
The garment and gold are getting ready to play their first game of the Tallahassee Regional Tournament when they take on Stetson University. Stetson is 36-20 heading into Tallahassee. First pitch is Friday May 15, 12 p.m ET.
