The Seminoles haven't pulled in a newcomer yet via the transfer portal. But are hosting a past Colorado big.
Florida State basketball already has pulled off one pivotal move in the transfer portal: Retaining Thomas Bassong.
Now comes adding pieces next to the rising freshman. FSU could have one in play out of Colorado.
Former Buffaloes forward Sebastian Rancik planned a visit to Tallahassee Monday, per Chris Nee of Noles247.
Rancik brings an intriguing 6-foot-11, 220-pound frame to his next potential stop. He also withstood the rigors of playing in one of the nation's deepest and most talented conferences the Big 12.
Rancik left Boulder averaging 12.3 points per game. He also pulled down 5.5 rebounds while dishing out two assists a night. He snatched 0.9 steals too. He even delivered 33.1% of his shot production from the perimeter.
FSU would bring in someone with extensive starting experience if it lands Rancik. He played in 29 total games featuring 26 starts up front. He also made 11 starts the previous year with CU.
Rancik showed his most potential against Eastern Washington, dropping a season-best 24 points against the Eagles on Nov. 8. He went on to deliver 20 games of surpassing the double-digit scoring mark.
He pulled off one double-double during conference play: Feb. 7 against Arizona State which saw Rancik score 17 points with 11 rebounds.
But he also delivered a 20-point outing against UCF on Jan. 24, the same Knights team that made a late push into March Madness. Rancik also delivered 17 points on another NCAA Tournament representative out of the Big 12 TCU.
Rancik is a native of Bratislava, Slovakia. But he starred for California powerhouse JSerra Catholic in San Juan Capistrano. He eventually became a four-star talent by 247Sports composite and rated as the nation's 27th power forward, plus No. 16 overall California talent.
Rancik landed 12 offers out of high school including USC, Mississippi State, Arizona State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, San Diego State, even future Sweet 16 representative Nebraska. He ultimately chose Colorado among his four-year opportunities.
Now he's seeking his newest home in the portal. Rancik would hand head coach Luke Loucks needed size down low moving forward, especially against Atlantic Coast Conference foes that thrive off height and power in the frontcourt.
Rancik joins Cincinnati's Shon Abaev as Big 12 representatives who have visited FSU.
