Florida State received more positive news on the transfer portal front on Tuesday. First, they learned former Auburn quarterback Ashton Daniel committed, then that former East Carolina tight end Dessirio Riles also signed on.
Riles took trips to both Ole Miss and FSU this past weekend and picked the Noles over the Rebels.
As a junior for the Pirates in 2025, Riles had 28 receptions for 362 yards and two touchdowns.
Riles is originally from Jacksonville, Florida, and he played high school football at University Christian High School. He signed with the Indiana Hoosiers as a three-star outside linebacker recruit in the 2023 class. He was later released from his letter of intent and ended up at ECU, converting to tight end for the Pirates.
The Noles also landed redshirt sophomore center Bradyn Joiner from Purdue, who signed with Florida State while visiting Tallahassee , according to multiple reports Tuesday.
Joiner started in 12 games at center for the Boilermakers during the 2025 season. In 791 snaps, he allowed 26 pressures, including 23 quarterback hurries, two QB hits, and one sack. Joiner graded out at 62.7 overall, per Pro Football Focus. He sat at 63.2 as a pass-blocker and 61.7 as a run-blocker.
These three players, signed via the portal, are huge gets for the Noles, considering how the offense struggled at times down the stretch of the season.
Although the Seminoles' offense did show some improvement.
Florida State topped 400 yards of total offense in nine games during 2025, the most in the ACC and 10th nationally. The Seminoles gained 775 yards against Kent State, 729 against East Texas A&M, 514 at Virginia, 444 at Stanford, 431 versus Virginia Tech, 421 versus Wake Forest, 415 versus Pitt, 407 at Florida, and 404 versus Miami. Those totals marked the most yards allowed all season by Kent State, East Texas A&M, Virginia, Wake Forest, and Miami.
Of course, this is just the beginning of the movement from the portal for the Noles. We still haven’t heard from former Florida Gators QB DJ Lagway and other FSU portal targets.
There will be more news to come. According to some reports, as many as a third of players from all across the country have entered the transfer portal.
